Carter's first Christmas!

What a great day! So much to be Thankful for. Our little guy was surrounded by a lot of love and of course presents. He got a lot of books, we can't wait to read them all!

He has officially found his feet, and now knows they reach his mouth! ;) He has also started making different noises, squealing noises! Our house is filled with that and loud toys, we couldn't be happier!

His grandparents head home tomorrow. We have had so much fun with all of our family, we are so blessed.

This app on my phone is not allowing me to upload pictures but I have some great ones. Special ones of Carter and Elly.

We thank god for all we have, we truly are so blessed.

Getting ready for Christmas

We have been very busy getting ready for Christmas!

Carter's great grandparents were in town the last few days, oh what fun!! They are so in love with him. He is surrounded by so much love it's unbelievable! They had a wonderful visit full of laughter, kisses, hugs, more kisses, smiles and more kisses. :)
We are so lucky to have one another!

Carter continues to try crawling. I give him two weeks.

Tomorrow we are taking goodie bags to the NICU families and nurses. We are happy to report that as of yesterday there are only five families. That is great news considering while Carter was there they were over crowded 16 rooms and some baby's had to share. We couldn't be more excited to take them their little gifts. (Hand sanitizer and lotion) ;)

Crib training....

The last two nights Carter has slept in his crib with little help! Yay!!!! He doesn't make it through the whole night but he has been able to self soothe until his 2am feeding. Last night he ate and went back to sleep until 4:30 in his crib!

We have been busy trying to get gifts wrapped, cookies baked, and special gifts made!

He continues to work on crawling and sitting. He loves bouncing in his exersaucer.

He has a rash under his chin from drooling 24-7. We are doing our best to keep it dry under there. :)

Carter and Elly exchanged Christmas gifts this week. Hundreds of miles won't keep these two from growing up together! Enjoy the pictures of their gift exchange.

Finally an update

He continues to struggle with sleeping in his crib all night. Lately he's been making it until midnight (with some help) then off to his rocker. We will keep trying.....

We had been trying solids, well oatmeal only, but we've decided to wait. He still has his gag reflex and after talking to the developmental therapist she confirmed it's something he'll have to grow out of not something that he can practice out of. So we will try again in a few weeks.

He continues to roll! He is starting to put his knees up so crawling probably isn't too far off. The therapist gave me a lot of helpful hints to help him. I can't believe how far he's come, it's truly amazing.

He received the 2nd part of his flu shot and finally received his RSV shot. He'll continue to get it for the next 6 months...

Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the tragedy.

Sleeping in his crib??

He slept in his crib for almost the entire night!! Yay!
I decided to swaddle him chest down, leaving his arms free should he decide to roll. He must have felt comforted because he didn't whine at all, just went to sleep!
He had his flu shot yesterday and while we were there's we weighed him. He's 14lbs 8oz! A BIG BOY! :)

Bouncing baby

Carter is loving his new exersaucer!! He loves bouncing and all the noise it makes!!
He's still loving his oatmeal and hands! :)

We are still dealing with him not wanting to sleep in his crib. Last night he made it a whole hour before fussing. The last few nights he's also slept until 5:30. It's wonderful!

His Gramma is coming to town tomorrow for the week to visit. Carter has the second half of his flu shot on Monday and therapy this week too! We are also meeting with Reverend Dent from Trinity to talk about Carter's baptism. He is making a special trip to the house since we're on lock down. Lock down? Yep, that's right!! He has to get his RSV shot still and even then we are being very careful with it being flu season and RSV season.

Hope this finds everyone well! Thank you for keeping up with the blog.

Rolling baby

He's officially rolling from back to tummy then tummy to back. Before we know it he'll be rolling around the house. You can tell he wants to crawl, he gets very frustrated after being on his belly for a while.

As of Monday night he's doing much better eating his oatmeal!! He eats it pretty fast. It's still pretty messy though! :)

He is showing more interest in trying to hold his bottle.

7 months old

Wow, where does the time go? He's already 7 months old!! We had a Christmas photo shoot yesterday morning in his Santa outfit. He did great, the pictures look awesome. I am so excited for Christmas this year.
We continue to try and get Carter to sleep in his crib through the night. This has been a tough task but we make progress everyday. He is rolling over a lot and playing with his hands constantly.

In his mouth!

Everything is going in his mouth! His fingers spend most of the day being chewed on. :) He is "talking" a lot, moving around a lot and smiling a lot! We have been working on sitting up and rolling over. He still hasn't found his feet, they catch his eye every now and then but they don't interest him that much.
We got the call today that he can FINALLY get his RSV shot!!! YAY! We can't wait for him to start it, it will make us feel better. We also found him a new doctor that we really like. They are the ones that got his shot for us.
We are discussing when he will be baptized. We can't wait for that day.
