Braedyn's surgery went well today. 

Carter is doing great. Eating more solids and trying to walk.. He's got another month or two before he's walking. 

I hold him tighter since we got the news about Braedyn. I have always cherished every second with Carter and loved him like today could be our last, but now I love him even more everyday. I kiss him more (yes, it's possible) and hold him tighter. I tell him every single day that I am proud of him and why. 

I don't know how my brother is doing it, but he's staying strong. I tell him everyday that he has to stay strong for Brae, and here I am crying. My heart aches for my nephew. The road ahead is a long one.

 Lord, give me the strength to stay strong for my family.

Update on my nephew

Yesterday came with life changing news for my family. Braedyn has stage 3 liver cancer. He is in surgery now so they can biopsy and put in his port for chemo. He will have 3 months of chemo to help shrink the tumor. If small enough after 3 months they will remove and he has to endure 3 more months of chemo. 

It is so hard to watch my brother go through this. I just can't believe this is happening! My heart hurts. 

Please pray for Braedyn & my brother. They need strength, patience and comfort right now. 

Asking for prayers for Carter's cousin

Carter's cousin, Braedyn, is one month older than Carter and is currently in Children's Hospital waiting on test results. My brother felt a lump on his stomach and took him to the doctor. They found a rare mass on his liver which they are thinking is hepatoblastoma. Liver cancer that is found within a child's first 3 years of life. 

He is waiting to get a cat scan today. I will update when we have more answers. 

Please pray for him and my brother.

The only new exciting news is that Carter is now able to drink whole milk. We are in the process of transitioning him from milk as a meal to solids. This will be difficult since he's still having texture issues. Everything has to be puréed, no chunks at all or he gets sick.

A day outside

We decided to finally go on a walk today!!! No clouds and a warm 89 degrees! Yikes!! Carter and I found some shade at the park and sat down and enjoyed the scenery. 

Carter's 12 month appointment

Well, we couldn't be happier!!! Carter is right where he should be for a 12 month old for development!!!!! He is still small on the charts, but he's one smart cookie!!!! Yay!!!! 

Carter got undressed for his weigh in, and as he did another little boy was doing his eye exam. We had to wait for the little boy to finish before taking Carter to the scale....Well.... Enjoy the picture below, you'll know which one I'm talking about. 

He is walking all along the furniture, laughing, and just being a little boy! He is such a joy!!!! 

I'm SO proud of him!!! SO. PROUD.
