Busy week!!!

He has an eye exam tomorrow, and he has a neurosurgeon appointment on Thursday. The neurosurgeon at Children's will look at the fluid that is still lingering under his scalp. We will update with the results of both appointments as they happen.

The nanny will be coming to spend time with the two of us tomorrow. She will get to see what our day is like.

Today was another great day at home with my little angel! It is going to be SO HARD to go back to work. I'm a little attached and overprotective of my little guy. :)

A good weekend

After talking with a friend, I used some of her techniques and Carter had his best night yet on Friday night! (Thanks Debi). He had a good night last night too, a little restless during the second half of the night. I took time at 3am once he was sleeping to view the meteor shower. It was pretty cool!

Weather permitting, I would like to go on a walk with him today. I will post pictures if we get the chance.

All is well

I'm up feeding him right now. He does this cute little humming noise while he eats, makes me smile. We are still up every two hours. I've been researching sleep schedules for preemies, so far nothing to write home about. We just need to remember that he is technically one week old.

I've been trying to cherish every second I have with him. I kiss him at least 200 times a day. :) He sure is special. I can't imagine life without him. I'm so blessed to have my two boys. Well, he is just about to sleep. I will post a picture of him now. (its the one with his paci and my hand)

Up all night

This seems to be the theme for the last two nights. We thought it may be reflux, so we got some medication from the doctor but he seems fussier tonight.
We will see how the rest of the "night" goes.

I apologize that we don't update as much anymore. It's so hard to find the time, unless it's 3 in the morning.

Hungry Boy!

Carter has been eating a lot lately! Hopefully this means he will be over 7 pounds for his next doctors appointment.

We are still doing great at home, getting lots of cuddle time. Carter and I both enjoy cuddle time. :)

Yesterday was Gavin's (my nephew) 8th birthday! It reminded me that time goes by so fast and to cherish every moment. (Happy Happy Birthday Gavin Quinn)

Today is Carter's due date-- he is finally 40 weeks. We will update as the day goes on.

Update: Carter was fussy most of the day only sleeping if he was held. Needless to say, I'm one tired mom. He is resting peacefully on me right now. I will post some more pictures from today.

Dress up

Mommy and Carter played dress up today (see attached). Carter did four things today and he did them very well: he ate, he slept, he pooped and he cried. He's a pro.

We're beginning to understand Carter's signals and signs. When he's crying, we seem to be able to quell whatever's wrong more efficiently than a week ago.

It's his 3 month birthday today and his due date is only two days from now. It is weird to think of what we'd be doing to prepare for him being born if all were on a normal schedule. When viewed in that light, we seem like old pros today. Carter is so perfect that we wouldn't wish it any other way. Enjoy the baby-photo-shoot!
