Doctors appt

Carter had his doctor appointment and just like we thought, we have a 9 pounder on our hands. 9 pounds .05oz to be exact!

He's in the 35th percentile on his preemie growth chart for weight. He is a little over 21 inches long and in the 60th percentile.

He had to endure another round of shots. He had four, two in each thigh and one oral. I held his hands while the nurse administered the shots. Carter cried then couldn't get a breath to let out another. It was one of the saddest things I've witnessed. I scooped him up and held him tight and daddy kissed his head. He calmed down after a few minutes.

We chose this practice because they came highly recommended by one of the doctors in the NICU. Unfortunately we are are looking for a new doctor. We feel like we have been treated like a number and today was no different. We were given a developmental form to fill out today and it was for a four month old! Carter's corrected age, and the age all development will be based off of for the next two years, is ONE month. We felt like this was something they should have known being that they deal with preemies. We had to answer no to all the questions, not because he is behind but because we shouldn't have been given that form for another three months. The final straw was when they told me they didn't have to see Carter again for two months, the same as a baby born at 40 weeks. I was not happy with that, and after talking to Elly's mom I'm pretty sure he should be seen more often. Elly is still going every two weeks, so to go two months just doesn't seem right. The most important thing is that he is healthy, and gaining weight like a champ.

Thank you all for your continued support and prayers.

A special thanks to Kathy For passing down clothes, we appreciate it!
