May 8 - 1 week old

Carter has responded very well to the blood transfusion. He does have two stage 1 brain bleeds on the areas of the brain that eventually produce spinal fluid. This isn't alarming to anyone at Rose (obviously it is to us since we have no experience with preemies). They say that the bleeds should stop on their own.

Carter was put on a high-flow today. This replaces his CPAP breathing apparatus and is a step forward for his respiratory health. This means he can take his "pilots helmet" off and we can see his mug! Obviously we think he's the cutest baby ever made!

He struggled overnight with 5 bradys(where his heart rate crashes) but he pulled himself out of each one. I have attached pics of him today at one week old!
