Mother's Day

Carter and mommy had some kangaroo time but we aren't sure if he enjoyed it as much as we did. He was very fussy and kept his heart rate elevated for much of the time. Nonetheless, it was a great mothers day treat for all.

I "had words" with a nurse today about her care when it came to handling our son. We had noticed this particular nurse's hands had been shaky in a previous changing of his diaper and we took note of the fact that this trait made her particularly more rough with Carter than other nurses. Today she was trying to remove some tape from one of the places on his head where a tube was anchored and long story short, she wasn't being gentle. I spoke up, she half-way snapped back at me, and we requested that she be reassigned to another baby permanently. Interesting day.

Other than that, he had a couple more bradys, pooped again, and was just all around very cute throughout the day. My mother has been staying with us since we had Carter and has been a Godsend. We don't know what we would do without her taking care of us through this. We are so thankful to have both her and Carter (among everyone else) in our lives.

Thank you for all your prayers!
