A Nice Sunday

We took Carter out to run some errands with us today. He did GREAT!! Most of the day was spent indoors enjoying the Olympics. Carter had a great night last night, hoping for the same tonight.

We were talking tonight about our journey, and can't believe he'll be 3 months old on Wednesday. He has come SO far! I admire him more than anyone else I've ever met. He is our world! :)

Well, I'm off to join my boys. They are both sound asleep.

Thank you all for your continued support and prayers!

Restless night

We were up the majority of the night. Carter was very restless. We tried something new today, so we will see if it works. I can't take many more nights like last night. Thanks to Nick I got a nice nap this morning!!!!

Weather permitting we are going to try out our stroller and go on our first family walk! I can't wait, it will be nice to get out of the house.

We are getting ready to give the little one a bath now, we will post pics soon.

Doctor's Visit

Sorry everyone! I know it's been a while!

Carter had his second doctors appointment today. We are happy to announce that he's been taken off oxygen! We're still keeping it in the house for the next 10 days but we don't anticipate using it. We are only to use it if he's turning blue - that sounds terrible but has happened before.

He weighs 6lbs 7oz officially! He has been having some serious hunger cravings at night that he is extremely vocal about and we asked the doctor if we should feed him at will or stick to the three hour schedule that we've been fairly good about. Luckily we can feed him at will now as he is old enough to dictate his own schedule. This will help our (primarily Sandy's) sleep schedule immensely.

His head issue has grown back and it is concerning his pediatrician because she's not seen anything like it in her 25 year career. He is going to have another neuro consult soon for a second opinion.

We ran some errands today with Carter and he did quite well. Not fussy just sleepy. He's such a good boy and we are so thankful that he is so naturally strong and beautiful. We know he is our little blessing and thank God every day for him and each other.

Update

We are doing great at home! Carter had an eye appt today, his eyes are still immature. We have another appt in 3 weeks. We have a doc appt tomorrow, they will test him to see if he still needs oxygen.

He had a rough night last night, so he is napping now and I'm on my way.

I will post pictures over the last week.

Laundry......

We had a nice quiet Sunday. We interviewed another nanny today. We are quickly learning there is more to it than we originally thought! The day ended with my sister, Stephanie and her family bringing us ice cream!

I had my baby shower yesterday, it was beautiful. If you know me, clutter bothers me. I had to call Steph so she could help me put things away, it was getting on my nerves. We got a lot of clothes which means a lot of laundry. Thanks to my mother in law, I don't have to worry about ours for a few days.

My mom is going to drop by this week to help out. It makes a difference when you have an extra set of hands! Now, can someone sleep for me?!?

Here's to our first full week together at home!

Zzzzzzzzzzz....

I wish that was the sound that Sandy and I were getting used to. Instead, Carter is keeping his own schedule. He's doing very well and is a happy baby and for that we are thankful, but it seems that in the daylight hours, he eats fairly well and sleeps a lot and at night, he is ravenous and wakes up an hour before each feeding. We are still on round-the-clock shifts which translates into very little sleep. He's worth it though.

He had a bath tonight and did very well. His hair is always very fuzzy after baths and tonight was no exception. It's 4:18 now and he's wide awake sucking on his pacifier waiting for his 5am bottle and his fuzzy head looks hilarious in the glow from George Lopez Show reruns. Ya there's very little variety this hour of the day.

Maybe someday we'll get some meaningful rest but until then, we remain zombies. More to come...
