Warm Boy

Carter had a good day today. He gained up to 5lbs 3oz and took most of his bottle feedings. The doctor came by and said she was going to consult the neurosurgeon about replacing his regularly scheduled brain scan with an MRI. This may shed some light on the safety of his head condition and potentially fill in any gaps in his diagnosis.

Today Carter did very well partly - we think - due to his new clothes. Mommy and daddy got him some newborn sized sleepers and they seem to be keeping him very warm and comfy. When he is cold, he uses calories and focuses on trying to warm himself up again. He doesn't gain weight at the normal rate and his hands and feet get really cold. His new sleepers are helping him regulate his temperature better thus keeping his body focused on what it needs to be focused on: growing and maturing.

We're looking forward to another great day tomorrow. One day closer to coming home.
