Big Boy Clothes

Tonight Carter (all 3lbs 4oz of him!) got his first taste of big boy clothes! He was dressed in his onesie when we all arrived tonight. It was a welcome surprise for my parents and our friends John and Barbara. My parents haven't seen him in person in about 3 weeks and they raved about how developed he is now and how far he's come.

Also today they turned off the humidifier in his isolette because he's 32 weeks old (gestation) today! He also only had 2 bradys today and they were very minor. He also got his thick blanket taken off the outside of his isolette. This means that more light will be shining on him now. All part of his graduation into the 32-weekers!

Daily dose of gross: while we were all there tonight and while Sandy and I were taking turns holding him, Carter decided to create his largest masterpiece to date. For the majority of the hour we had him out, he was grunting and making his straining face while turning red. As we checked his diaper for treasure, we found his largest creation to date. Once again, I don't include things like this in the blog just to be gross, I simply do it to underscore the progress being made by his bodily systems.

More progress found today by mommy: real baby tears. He was a fussy boy today so much that he brought himself to tears. It really broke Sandys heart to see but we both acknowledge that it is a sign of his progress. Still, it was very sad to see!

More to come tomorrow...
